Premium Ingredients Int'l is pro-active to Melamine concerns.

Carol Stream, IL (May 3, 2007)—In response to the recent media coverage of Melamine contaminated products in the pet food industry, Premium Ingredients Int'l is in no respect involved in distributing products related to the recent recalls.

Furthermore, it is our understanding that the issue is specifically related to a number of vegetable proteins that were sold for pet food comsumption where Melamine, according to popular press, is suspected to have been used to increase the level of protein. This specific use of Melamine means that is is pointless to use it in any products that are not sold based on their level of protein.

Premium Ingredients has received numerous inquiries about the FDA's import alert 99-29, and in particular, the mention of product code 54. This product code, for the vast majority, covers items that are NOT vegetable proteins, which this import alert is applied to.

We are awaiting further clarification from the FDA, which will, in our view, significantly drop the number of items on the initial list, due to them being non vegetable proteins.

Los Angeles, CA, (April 30, 2007) – Axiom Foods, Inc. Axiom is not under investigation by the FDA and they were not asked to have their products tested.
